PastyX ("the Service") is a markdown pastebin. This policy explains what information we process and why. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we process

• Paste content. The markdown you submit is stored so it can be retrieved and rendered. Pastes may be public to anyone holding the link.
• Optional metadata. Title and author are stored if you provide them.
• Technical data. Your IP address may be processed transiently to enforce rate limits and to count views. It is not used to build a profile.

What we do not collect

• We do not require accounts and do not collect names or emails to use the Service.
• We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising trackers.

Passwords & edit keys

Paste passwords and edit keys are never stored in plaintext. They are hashed on the server (PBKDF2) and only the hash is retained. We cannot recover a lost password or edit key.

Cookies & local storage

The Service does not use tracking cookies. Your theme preference (light/dark/system) is stored locally in your browser only.

Data retention

Pastes persist until they expire (if you set an expiry), are deleted by their owner, or are removed after a single view when burn-after-read is enabled.

Service providers

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Requests are processed by Cloudflare in order to deliver the Service.

Your choices

You can delete any paste you control using its edit key. To request removal of content you cannot delete yourself, contact us.
